Hearths

Here you can view our stove and fireplace hearths and accessories designed to complement our full range of solid fuel, pellet, electric and oil stoves and fire surrounds. We can supply and fit traditional black granite hearths in standard sizes or you can choose various quartz hearths in Marfil and Perla White or our new selection of tiled heaths.

Filled hearths are used for open fires and inset stoves with 3 sided frames that sit on the hearth. They are filled with heat resistant concrete and have expansion joints in the stone cladding to allow for fires and stoves that will transfer heat into the hearth.

Filled Hearths

The hearth is an important part of your solid fuel installation and must meet current building regulations. If you have any questions or are unsure which hearth should be used for your installation, you should consult a HETAS registered installer such as H&F.
Hearths with loose risers come in 4 parts; top, 2 sides and a front peice. They are designed to clad a concrete base and the peices are stuck to the concrete base using high temperature adhesive. All top slabs are 20mm thick. These hearths cannot take too much direct heat and are used mainly for inset stoves with 4 sided frames.

Hearth with Loose Risers

Curved, filled hearths cannot take direct heat as the top panel has no expansion joints. They are used mainly for inset stoves with four sided frames or free standing stoves with legs, log stores or plinths where there is no direct heat transfer into the hearth.

Used to extend existing hearths should you change your appliance, these hearth peices have solid top panels with no expansion joints so they cannot take direct heat. Curved extension peices come in raised 65mm or flat 20mm panels with either standard or bevelled edges.

Hearth Extensions Curved

Boxed and lipped hearths have a solid top panel with no expansion joints so cannot take direct heat and the top panel overhangs the sides to create a lipped edge. They are used for freestanding stoves on legs, with log stores or plinths. H&F can supply this type of hearth in a range of materials and colours and all are approximately 65mm high.

Shaped hearths are for special applications such as when a stove is fitted into a corner or for when the stove protrudes into the room. They have sloped or rounded edges to keep the trip hazard to a minimum. Below are our prices for standard sizes but we can have any size made so please ask for a quotation if you require a bespoke hearth.

Glass hearths are manufactured from toughened, heat resistant galss, clear or smoked just 12mm thick and have bevelled edges to minimise the trip hazard. This type of hearth is suitable for pellet stoves or any stove certified by the manufcturer as being suitable for a 12mm hearth. Glass hearths are highly scratch resistant, duarble, easy to clean and can show the texture of the underlying floor.

Glass Hearths

Flat slate hearths are just 20mm thick and are suitable for inset stoves with 4 sided frames. Slate is a soft, natural material easily marked.
