The Reconditioning Process

Once an order is placed for one of our reconditioned range cookers, the cast iron range cooker in need of a new lease on life is carefully selected from one of our warehouses and begins its journey through our comprehensive reconditioning process.

First, the old cooker is completely dismantled. all durable cast iron parts are sent to our shot-blasting facility for a thorough deep clean and to remove the old enamel finish.

Next, the outer cast iron panels are transported to our enameling plant, where they are coated in the customer’s chosen colour. This involves applying a base coat followed by two top coats of coloured enamel, which are then baked at approximately 850°C in one of our  enameling ovens.

New steel panels are fabricated in our engineering department and painted in our paint shop using a primer and high-quality , specially formulated to match the enamel colours.

Key new components such as boilers, ovens, and fireboxes are precision-cut new using a CNC plasma machine and expertly hand-welded by our  fabrication team. Each boiler undergoes rigorous pressure testing  to ensure safety and reliability.

Additional new parts—including internal liners, handles, thermostats, thermometers, baffles, and dampers—are incorporated into the rebuilt cooker. For oil-fired models, our burner workshop calibrates and tests a brand-new pressure jet burner, which is then fitted as part of the reconditioning process.

All components are then passed to our team for final assembly. New fire bricks, high-performance thermal  insulation, rope seals, industrial-grade fire cement, and heat-resistant adhesives are used to ensure a robust and reliable finish.

After a final inspection and comprehensive quality checks, the reconditioned cooker is ready for installation—delivered and professionally fitted by one of our experienced installation teams.
