The Reconditioning Process
Once we have received an order for one of our reconditioned cookers, a used range cooker that has seen better days is selected from one of our cooker warehouses and enters the beginning of the reconditioning process.
The old range is completely dismantled and all perishable or damaged parts are carefully disposed of. The remaining serviceable parts, mainly cast iron are sent to our shot blasters for a deep clean and to remove the old enamel.
Then, the outer cast iron panels are sent to our enameling plant and are enameled to the colour chosen by our customer. This entails a base coat and two top coats of coloured enamel baked on at around 850°C in one of our enameling ovens.
|
New steel panels are manufactured in our engineering plant and sent to our paint shop where they are sprayed with a primer and top coat using high quality paint from the automotive industry, specially formulated to match our enamel colours.
|
Major new parts like boilers, ovens & fire boxes are cut out on our computer controlled plasma machine and then hand welded by our specialist fabrication team. All boiler will then go to our testing station and pressure tested at 3.5 bar for 1 hour.
|
New parts such as internal liners, handles, thermostats, thermometers, baffles and dampers are added to the list of reconditioned parts. For oil cookers our burner workshop will calibrate and test a brand new pressure jet burner that is then added to the list of parts
All parts are then sent to our highly trained craftsmen for the final cooker assembly. New fire bricks, insulation and rope seals are used along with industrial grade fire cement, sealers and adhesives.
After the final inspection and quality checks have been performed, the cooker is ready for fitting nationwide by one of our installation teams.
